About Spiritual Healing.

The Cedars Healing Rota

What is healing ?

Healing is simply the channelling of energies by the healer to the patient in order to re-energise the client to deal with illness or injury.

We find that healing often helps clients cope with recovery from serious illness and major surgery and can alleviate the side-effects of treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

It complements rather than replaces conventional medicine.

Do I need to have 'Faith'?

No. We ask nothing special of the client except an openness to anything that happens and a degree of trust in the healer.

All of the healers at the Cedars are fully trained and experienced, and are members of either the NFSH, SNU, US or HPAI.

Does Healing always work?

Most people say that they benefit from healing. It is a subtle process, and the benefits are not always immediately obvious, sometimes developing over a period of time and subsequent healing sessions.

Every client is different - so it is not surprising that their reactions to healing are also different. Healing has no negative side-effects - and works well with all forms of holisting medicine.

The healing session is often deeply relaxing - and can leave the patient feeling peaceful and invigorated.

In cases of terminal illness, healing can ease the client's passing, and help them and their friends / relatives to deal with their situation in a more positive way.

Can it do any harm?

No!
In some cases client may experience a temporary state of 'feeling worse' - before the healing energies 'kick in' and the improvement starts. This is often due to the release of pent-up stress or emotion - and removing this is an important part of the healing process.

What happens during a healing session ?

A healing session typically takes about 20 minutes.
All the client has to do is to sit or lie fully clothed, while the healer attunes themselves to the healing energy, and channels the energy to where it is needed.

Many clients find the experience deeply relaxing - often falling into a semi-sleep state. Sometimes clients report sensations of tingling or warmth as the energy is transmitted.

The benefits continue for hours or days after the healing session.

How can I get healing for myself or for somebody else ?

The Cedars offers regular healing sessions on Monday afternoons / evenings - from 2:30pm to 8pm (not Bank Holidays).
No appointments are necessary, and no charge is made - but donations to the Church are always welcome.

'Distant' healing can be arranged simply by adding the name of the person who needs healing to the Cedars Healing Book - ask any Committee member at the Church and they will be pleased to help you with this. If you cannot get to the Church - you are very welcome to email us the name of the person who needs healing - and we will add the name to the Healing Book for you.

Alternatively, you may like to have their name added to the 'Distant Healing ' page of this website. Just click the link below.

I'm interested in becoming a Healer - where do I start ?

The Cedars hosts an annual healing course which leads to a recognised qualification and membership of a healing organisation.

These courses are recommended for those interested in becoming healers - and also form an excellent introduction to the whole spiritual way of life, as they touch on a variety of topics related to healing.

The next course begins on 10th January 2009; for full details and registration form, click this link.

The Cedars runs a regular monthly Healer Support Group for Probationers and Full Healers - see our diary page for more details.
